Durga Puja

A perfect balance of faith, festivity & joy

To some, Durga Puja is about faith – glory of Maa Durga and victory over Demon Mahishashur symbolizing good prevailing over evil. But, to others, Durga Puja is about festivities – the mother of all celebrations, an immersive week of not only fun and frolic but also the culmination of a year long anticipation and preparation. Notwithstanding age, Durga Puja has something to offer everyone. As we Indians spread across the world, Durga Puja is our nostalgic tryst with our own culture that binds us as a community. We the people of “Utsav Durga Puja”, make our own humble attempt to live the annual celebrations and pass on the batton of tradition to the generations to come. Bolo Durga Mai ki Jai!

Lohri / Pongal /
Sankranti

A time of joy and gratitude

Lohri, Pongal, and Makar Sankranti mark the harvest season across different parts of India. These festivals honor the sun, nature, and the bounty of the harvest. Lohri is celebrated in the northern regions, where families gather around bonfires, singing and dancing to traditional songs. Pongal, in the south, is a time of thanksgiving, with homes decorated, and special offerings made as part of the celebration. Makar Sankranti, observed nationwide, marks the transition of the sun into Capricorn, symbolizing new beginnings. Together, these festivals reflect unity in diversity, bringing communities together in shared cultural festivities.

Holi

The festival of colors

Holi is a vibrant festival that celebrates the arrival of spring, symbolizing the victory of good over evil. It is marked by joyous gatherings where people come together to throw colorful powders, dance, and enjoy festive music. Holi also represents the renewal of relationships, as participants playfully smear colors on each other, letting go of past grievances. Traditionally, the festival begins with a bonfire on the night before, signifying the triumph of light over darkness. The day itself is filled with fun, laughter, and the spirit of unity and celebration.
